When there is a change of pitch between two roofs, sarking should be fixed to the lower roof if it has a pitch of less than the minimum requirements (see sections 3.1 and 3.2). Under these circumstances the sarking under the lower roof must extend at least 350 mm into the higher pitched main roof. The sarking should be fixed to the lowest batten of the upper roof section and continue over the whole of the lower section. Where sarking is also to be fixed on the upper part of the roof, the overlap to the lower roof section should be at least 150 mm. |
